How Joel Comm knows my name

I went to a conference in Dallas, TX last year. Joel Comm, the AdSense guru, was scheduled to speak. On the day of his presentation, I wore a very simple, yet screaming RED dress. I wanted to be noticed.

At the end of the day, everyone gathered by the hotel pool. As I entered the pool area, Joel Comm calls out, "Hey, Eva. Come over here. I want to talk to you." I am flabbergasted. Joel Comm knows my name, and he wants to talk to me!

I cooly saunter over to him by the bar. As I get close to him, he asked me, "Was I really that boring? You were falling asleep on me." I wanted to fall through the floor.

Moral of the story: Be careful how you brand yourself.
